WiseOnes is a support program for gifted children in their own schools. First in Victoria and now in New South Wales the service is provided by gifted teachers with a lot of experience in teaching and as parents of gifted children themselves.  Unless we can find really top quality people we do not offer the opportunity. WiseOnes Education Managers must have a proven record of wisdom. I congratulate these new people on taking action to make a difference in their world.  Pat Slattery

Education manager

Pat, a retired school principal, realized that there was one group of children for whom it was very difficult to provide.  Fast learners need more resources, faster paced lessons and more complex challenges in their learning experiences. In 2001 the Senate Select Committee on Gifted Education agreed that this was the most unmet need in education. Pat had already started WiseOnes in 1997. Teaming with other very experienced and mentally-keen educational leaders Pat has built WiseOnes to a national service for schools and their fast learning pupils. WiseOnes provides the teachers, the appropriate curriculum and the resources for these small groups, Pat attends World, National and her State Conference in G&T every year to keep the whole team up to date.  Email if you are interested in providing for these children in your own area. Claudine was a retired Principal when she saw an advertisement for educational leaders to work with WiseOnes. In 1998 she started to serve the needs of fast learners near where she lived. Now there are hundreds of children being assisted through her efforts.

Claudine loves the way her team of teachers and the WiseOnes programs make the children happier and more confident in their own natural identity. She is very empathetic with parents of gifted children.
Claudine attended the AAEGT Conference in Fremantle in 2006 and the VAGTC Conference in Mebourne 2007
as well as two VAGTC Twilight seminars in 2008

Education Manager

We would be delighted to find someone who would like to take on the role of licenced Education Manager on the northern side of Melbourne or on a Peninsula. There are many teachers who would like to work with WiseOnes but we need a Manager to support the schools that decide to offer the WiseOnes program to parents.  Do you have something to offer in understanding the gifted and in organizational skills?
In NSW we would like to have someone in the Parramatta area to be a colleague of Viv's.
Consider asking about taking up a Licence to use our Intellectual property to provide more for those children who are really fast learners.

As our first Education Manager in NSW, Viv is now more able to use her Masters in Gifted Education to assist the children in this large outer area of Blue Mountains, Penrith and Blacktown. Viv is well known for her previous efforts to provide for the fast learners.

Her combination of creativity and organizational  skills is an advantage. Phone 02 4757 2812 if you are interested in joining her team or you are a parent with questions or need help. Remember to cut and paste the email address. You cannot just click on a link.

Education Manager

Pat Truscott knew Pat Slattery from their active membership of the Principals' Association. When Pat T decided to retire after much more than a decade as a school principal she thought that WiseOnes would give her a great interest and provide a way of serving needs that she recognized as important and unmet. Pat joined the WiseOnes team in 1999 and has hundreds of children enjoying the programs presented by her team of teachers.

Pat attended the World Conference for the Gifted in New Orleans in 2005 with Pat Slattery and the Australasian Conference in Fremantle in 2006 along with Claudine. In 2007 the two Pats attended the World Conference at Warwick University UK and the VAGTC Conference in Melbourne 2007 and two Twilight seminars.

Pat''s consistent, outstanding service to the schools to which she contracts shows in the happiness of the children and the way they always want to come back to WiseOnes. Principals enjoy her collegial experience and know how as she understands their position.

Pat cares for more than a dozen schools and has built a team of several teachers, parents of gifted children themselves, who understand the children but also know what schools need and how thyey work. Generally these teachers have a special talent themsleves  such as music, art, leadership, sport, maths or play writing, drama, history. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of WiseOnes all of their talents are used for the benefit of the chidlren..

Education Manager

Christine has taught in three states and is a specialist Music teacher as well as having taught adult business people to improve their businesses. Christine has a good head for systems and makes a valuable contribution to our collegial discussions. She also has experience as an Assistant Principal so is empathetic to school needs.

Christine is providing for well over 100 children in her Eastern areas of Melbourne. The number of schools using her services is growing all the time. Christine joined the WiseOnes team in 2004.  In 2008 Christine completed her Masters in Gifted Education and she attended the VAGTC Conference in Melbourne.

All our Education Managers live in the areas they serve so that they know the people and the culture of their community and are easy to approach. They are close to the schools and can provide expert assistance and personal service.

WiseOnes leaders understand the principal's role, the class teachers and the parents and children as we have been in all those roles ourselves. Being able to undertand all the points of view is a great advantage to both our teachers and the schools whose needs we serve.
